About Dr Nashandi

Thoughtful specialist care, explained clearly.

Dr Helena Nashandi is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a strong foundation in public and academic healthcare. She completed her medical degree at the University of Cape Town and later specialised in Obstetrics and Gynaecology through the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa and the University of Cape Town.

Her specialist training and clinical work took place at major teaching hospitals, including Groote Schuur Hospital and Mowbray Maternity Hospital. Working in these settings provided extensive exposure to a wide range of obstetric and gynaecological conditions and reinforced the importance of careful clinical judgement and clear decision-making in women’s healthcare.

Over the years, Dr Nashandi has worked across antenatal care, gynaecological outpatient clinics and theatre. She has also participated in clinical review meetings and supported the training of junior doctors, helping shape a reflective and considered approach to practice.

During appointments, Dr Nashandi takes time to talk things through. She explains what she finds clearly and straightforwardly and encourages questions, so patients leave knowing what is going on and what their options are.

In addition to her specialist training, she has completed further courses in the management of obstetric emergencies, basic obstetric ultrasound, surgical skills and basic life support.
